Kaspersky says fraudsters stealing cash via SMSs turn more active

MOSCOW, Jul 25 (PRIME) -- Perpetrators using SMSs allegedly on behalf of large companies have become more active in Russia, antivirus maker Kaspersky senior content analyst Tatyana Kulikova told PRIME on Monday.

“The scam is a type of online fraud whose aim is to steal money from users. Its essence is reduced to the following: one has to pay a small amount of money now to earn several times more in the future. This trick has become classic now and has many variants,” Kulikova said.

She added that if a person entered his card’s details on a fraudulent website for a money transfer, he risks its safety.

Users get messages from such companies as marketplaces Ozon and AliExpress with an offer of a side job.
